DOWN AND DIRTY REVIEWS:  SONY PLAYSTATION

This great machine has loads of games for it, some good, some bad.  Before you get too mad at these reviews here, I don't go for many unoriginal ideas and I like something in the action department with a good storyline or something like that.  I try to play as many games has possible but some just can't be reviewed at this time.  "You dare read it on?"  Go ahead, but I warned you!
The scores are out of 100!

Here Sephiroth! One of the stars of Final Fantasy 7.
"I'm not gonna give this guy a bad review."

SCORE NAME

49 ACE COMBAT 2 (Namco, 1997)
a boring 3Dflight simulator that was the sequel to the well forgotten Air Combat, a early Playstation release.

59 ACTIVISION CLASSICS  (Activision, 1999)
If you loved the Atari 2600 then maybe some of these games will ring a bell? These 30games are actually slower that their Atari 2600 counterparts but it's still a huge list of classic games for a good price. FrostBite, MegaMania, and Kaboom are some of my personal favorites on this disc.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 2
sound: 2
gameplay: 8

61 APE ESCAPE  (Sony, 1999)
Some will like these controls, others won't. Rent it first before you invest in this action, adventure game that can only be played with the Playstation Dual Shock controller. Catch all the runaway monkeys or they will change the course of evolution. Cute but the controls are too loose to control at times.
For 1 player only
graphics: 7 ...........colourful.
sound: 6
gameplay: 7

56 ASSAULT RIGS (Psychosis, 1996)
Fairly cool futuristic tank fighting at first, but than it got way too repetitive.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 7
sound: 5
gameplay: 6

67 ASTERIODS  (Activision/Atari, 1999)
A cool looking remake with lots of new stuff like different ships, weapons and even some amazing looking backgrounds. This CD also includes the original 1980's vector version of Asteriods for retro fans like me. Isn't it cool that Activision is now making Atari games? Atari actually tried to sue Activision once back in the 80's because Activision was actually started by former Atari employees.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 8
sound: 5
gameplay: 6

76 BLOODY ROAR  (Sony/Hudson Soft, 1998)
Transform your standard human fighters into dangerous and more aggressive animals to destroy your opponent in this fast arcade-like beat'em up. A fun game!
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 7
sound: 7
gameplay: 8

45 BUSHIDO BLADE 2 (SquareSoft, 1998)
The overrated sword fighting game that is no Soul Blade. What's the deal with the people with guns anyways? Sucks!
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 6
sound: 6
gameplay: 4

83 BUST A MOVE 2: Arcade Edition  (Acclaim/Taito, 1996)
Fun and simply puzzle action starring the cute little dinosaurs from Bobble Bubble. Also available on the N64 and Sega Saturn.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 5
sound: 6
gameplay: 9

76 BUST A MOVE 4 (Natsume/Taito, 1998)
Still good but little has changed other than a new combo system.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 5
sound: 5

38 C: The CONTRA ADVENTURE  (Konami, 1998)
It's a fun shooter at first but it just gets worse and worse has you keep on going. Features both side scrolling and awful looking 3Dlevels.

CASTLEVANIA: Symphony Of The Night  (Konami, June 1997)
Here's one of the best games ever, for any game system!! This amazing game not only includes the classic Castlevania gameplay we all know and love but it also has advanced new RPG elements too that really draws you into the adventure.
The story starts off as Richter Belmont is about to fight Count Dracula (the ending to Dracula X: Rondo of Blood), after Richter wins the battle the game now jumps ahead 4years later as Count Dracula's Castle suddenly returns yet again and Richter is no where to be found. Alucard (originally from CastleVania III Dracula's Curse) awakes from his 400year sleep after a intense nightmare only to realize now that he must enter CastleVania and try to stop his father, the evil Count Dracula, once again from taking over all of Europe........but where is Richter Belmont and his step sister Maria??
Alucard actually prefers to use swords and magic spells compared to the traditional whips found in the usually CastleVania games plus are new hero as the ability to transform into a bat, wolf, or even myst after you the right power ups. Because he is the son of Count Dracula he will take damage from water and the Boomerang Crosses so he's not perfect and that reflects his storyline.
Although Alucard is Dracula's only son, he's not really welcome back with open arms when he returns to CastleVania. Alucard starts off the game fully equiped with weapons and armour but Death himself robs him of everything after their talk doesn't go too well.
Luckly the castle is filled with treasures and items to find so you power up over time and you can even purchase various goods from a old friend. Alucard can also gain experience and equip weapons and armour just like in a real RPG's similar to that of an Final Fantasy and Phantasy Star game although this game is still all action platformer, so even if you're not a fan of RPG's changes are you'll still like CastleVania: Symphony of the Night.
The graphics will blow you away with the large amount of detail from every stage to the Clock Tower to the Library and don't forget the ugly bosses too. I was surprised when this game only got a Teen (T) rating because this game has a lot of gruesome images in it. First there is one giant disgusting boss that is rotting on meat hooks
with huge bees circling it which you gotta see to belief and secondly there is tons of blood pouring from almost every enemy and sometimes you don't even have to kill em to see the red stuff (like the jousting skeleton on a decapitated horse). I'm not complaining here because this is actually based on a horror story but I wouldn't let young kids play it. The music also rules in this game and the voices are well done.
Bottom line: A long quest (easily the biggest CastleVania ever) with multiple endings and great 2Dgraphics. You can even play as Richter Belmont after you finish the game once (by starting a new game as 'Richter') It's almost too much! A legendary game!

*Rare Playstation game
For 1player only
graphics: 9 ............ great artwork!
sound: 10 .......... little to no classic music but who cares!
gameplay: 9
............ massive game, just massive!

66 CHEF'S LUV SHACK  (Acclaim, 1999)
a funny game show type of game that has a cool South Park theme to it. I hate the constant load times though.
For 1 to 4players
graphics: 6
sound: 9
gameplay: 6

78 CRASH BANDICOOT (Sony, 1996)
With amazing 3Dgraphic with very simple controls and gameplay, Crash Bandicoot was a instant hit. Very easy to get into unlike Nintendo's Super Mario 64 but unlike Mario 64 this game tens to be very repetitive after awhile.
For 1player only
graphics: 9
sound: 7
gameplay: 6

82 CRASH BANDICOOT 2 Cortex's Revenge (Sony, 1997)
Even better graphics than before and more stuff to do and find in this Crash game. A fairly good sequel and in my opinion the best in the series.
For 1player only
graphics: 9
sound: 7
gameplay: 7

73 CRASH BANDICOOT 3 Warped! (Sony, 1998)
Not much as changed over the years in the Crash series unfortunately. Still a highly rail based game with little to no free play areas. Although it's still fun and Crash's little sister is now playable in some levels but you can't help to feel a sense of deja va. "Some innovation please!"
For 1player only
graphics: 7
sound: 7
gameplay: 6

77 CTR: CRASH TEAM RACING  (Sony, 1999)
Diddy Kong Racing for the Playstation....... kinda. One of the better kart klone games around.
For 1 to 4players
graphics: 7
sound: 6
gameplay: 8

48 CONTRA: Legacy of War  (Konami, 1996)
Unfair enemies and boring levels.

graphics: 7

gameplay: 4

57 DARK STALKERS III: Vampire Savior  (Capcom, 1996)
Another Street Fighter clone comes out by Capcom and it's just way too average yet again. Who takes this series seriously anyways?
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 5
sound: 6
gameplay: 5

73 DEAD Or ALIVE  (Tecmo/Team Ninja, 1998)
Cheap computer AI ruins this fun arcade brawler with the three half naked ladies stealing the show. There is even a 'bounce' option in the game for the breast of the women go up and down during the fights. Plays alot like the Virtua Fighter series.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 9 ........ one of the best looking fighters on the Playstation.
sound: 5
gameplay: 7

64 DINO CRISIS (Capcom, 1999)
Resident Evil but with Dinosuars and the same crappy controls too. For RE fans only!
For 1player only
graphics: 8
sound: 7
gameplay: 5

58 DUKES OF HAZZARD (1999)
A fast but fairly average racing game.

51 EHRGEIZ (Square, May 17 2000)
A confusing and dumb 3D fighter with some Final Fantasy 7 characters in it and some other weird fighters too. The quest mode was a cool idea but it's too limited. Best to rent this one first.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 7
sound: 7
gameplay: 6

71 EINHANDER (Square, June 1998)
I'm a huge shooter fan of the old school shoot em ups like R Type, Blazing Lazers, Gradius, and others but I'm not too crazy for Square's Einhander, despite the fact every shooting fan out there seems to love this game.
The story is about a war against the earth and the moon. You are part of the Einhander project launch from the city of Selene of the moon. You are the last hope for the people of Selene, because if you fail your mission than the people of the moon may all die without enough resources.
Einhander is not only a new 3D shooter for Square (who are normally known for their RPG's like the Final Fantasy's and the Parasite Eve series) but it's also a 'no stop' game meaning that you'll see no loading screens during gameplay and you'll fly straight to the next level after the last level is completed. It's cool but you'll still see a lot of long load times on the option screens unfortunately.
In Einhander you have the chance to pilot one of three different strange, but unique, looking fighter jets with the ability to grab weapons from sky thanks to their robotic arm(s). There are 8different guns (plus 4 secret weapons) the Einhander can pick up, each weapon has different speeds, reach, power and ammo like the Valcun gun has great speed and ammo but is weak on power while the Cannon gun is fairly strong but has weak speed and ammo. It's up to you to figure which weapon works best for which area so you don't pick up the wrong weapon or weapons by mistake.
Einhander is not a easy game because not only can one hit kill you instantly, but you also have to fight at least one mini boss per stage and sometimes they're actually harder then the actual boss itself. Your guns can guard you briefly from some attacks but you risk losing the gun if it takes too many hits which can be annoying when you're fighting a boss.
SquareSoft has been known for pushing the PlayStation to its limits and Einhander doesn't disappoint. The game is entirely done in 3D although it still scrolls just like a traditional side scroller, so it's easy to play. Each level is bound to impress you with its life like backgrounds to the cool 3Dangels you'll witness now and again plus not only are the bosses a real menace but they also look and animate great as most of them fill up the screen.
The music is always constantly changing even about half or 3/4 of the level which is very arcade-like. Because this game is highly German based the music is mostly fast paced Techno pop which is a nice change of pace to the average Playstation game.
Bottom line: This is a slick, fast paced shooter with some truly great 3Dvisuals and some weird but catchy music, but personally, the gameplay is just too limited for me. I don't like most of the weapons because they're usually just too weak, they don't last very long either, plus you can't even power up your ship like in traditional shooter. You should try it if you like shoot em ups but remember "It's not for everyone!"

BEST SONY PLAYSTATION GAME!!
97 FINAL FANTASY VII (Square, September 9,1997)
The king of the RPG's, it's truely unforgettable! Great story, great music, great graphics! Cloud Strife and his friends try to stop a fiendish plot by Cloud's former menator, Sephiroth. A very long quest that should take a large amount of time to complete.
For 1player only
graphics: 9
sound: 8.................. excellent music but some poor sound effects.
gameplay: 9................ lots of items and materia to discover.

72 FINAL FANTASY VIII (Square, 1999)

FINAL FANTASY 9 (SquareSoft, 2000)
It's nice to see the Final Fantasy series return to its roots............ at least in looks anyways. This game still plays alot like Final Fantasy 7 on PlayStation but at least now you can have four of your characters on screen at once and it's not anything like the awful Final Fantasy 8. Nothing too different when compared to past the Final Fantasies but still buy it for the story alone.
For 1player only
graphics: 9........ I don't like the funny looking characters but the cinemas were absolutely spectacular!
sound: 8

78 GRAN TURISMO 2 (Sony, December, 1999)

You're a young dog with long ears that finds a powerful magic ring after a huge crash. It's up to you to rescue a princess from a powerful new enemy. A fun action game in a 2D slash 3Dpespective. Sadly, the game wasn't too wide spread so it's a very rare game that's very hard to find now of days.

There's only one track in this game, but it still grows on you because the track is fairly large and the award system works well. I really hated this game when it was first introduced because your game is over after you finish the race.
For 1player only
graphics: 7
sound: 7
gameplay: 5

60 RIDGE RACER REVOLUTION (Namco, 1996)
A upgrade to the original Ridge Racer now features a two player mode and Galaga '88 challenging levels. Nothing too new but it's still fun.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 7
sound: 7
gameplay: 5

83 RIDGE RACER TYPE 4 (Namco, 1999)
Loads of cars and excellent controls too. Looks a lot like Gran Turismo too.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 9
sound: 8
gameplay: 7

21 RISE 2 (Acclaim, 1996)
The slow fighter that too hard to control and has very long load times. This is the sequel to Rise of the Robots............... the sequel nobody wanted!
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 6
sound: 6
gameplay: 3

62 RIVAL SCHOOLS (Capcom, 1998)
A goofy looking fighting game. It's another Capcom fighter so you know what to expect.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 4
sound: 6
gameplay: 7

50 RIVEN: The sequel to Myst  (Acclaim, December 1997)
Wonder around a new island and discover stuff that are out of place and that's it really. The 5disc set may sound cool but you have to switch discs on a regular basis which slows down the game even more.
For 1player only
graphics: 8
sound: 5
gameplay: 6

NEW!!
81 RPG MAKER (Agetec, May 2000)
Yes! This cool game lets you try and create your very own RPGgame. It's a very hard to learn game and some of the options can be kinda limited but it's still a lot of fun.
For 1player only
graphics: 7
sound: 7
gameplay: 9

76 R TYPE DELTA (Agetec/Irem, 1999)
In the newest R Type you have the choice of three different ships and you have to master 7new levels. You can now fire a powerful new Delta attack if you take enough hits on the Pod unit. A very challenging 2D/3D shooter, but overall not too different from the Super Nintendo game R Type III from a few years ago.
For 1player only
graphics: 8
sound: 7
gameplay: 7

GAME OF THE MONTH COLLECTION!!

85
R TYPES (Agetec/Irem, 2000)
There are only two R Types (R Type and R Type II) here in this collection but they are pretty damn good games anyways and both are very challenging.
The reason the score is so high is because now I can save my high scores and you can contiune a game for later thanks to a level select option for both games.
R Type II features 6levels, 2new weapons, and a new red guage for your charge beam that fires a new spread plasma shot. The problems with R Type II is that it's nearly impossible and the only way you're gonna beat a level is by pure luck, but it was still fun to play although the first R Type is better because it's not so merciless to finish.

For 1 or 2players
graphics: 7
sound: 7
gameplay: 8

33 SAGA FRONTIER (Square, 1998)
A really pathetic RPG with 16-bit looks (2frame animations and stupid looking super deformed characters) and boring levels. A black eye for SquareSoft.
For 1player only
graphics: 3 ............. very flat compared to Final Fantasy 7
sound: 4
gameplay: 5

SECOND OPINION!!
Heres a better review for Saga Frontier, (if you say so) 16-bit graphics, choose 7 different characters leading to 7 different endings.
Graphics: 8---I like 16-bit graphics
Sound: 7
Gameplay: 6
-Rune

Saga Frontier 2: (there is no review for this one)
Kinda a rip of suikodens gameplay You threw an entire time period, go there life and death of gustave and even after death. Fight 3 different battle systems like a standard Suikoden type, a one on one battle(suikodne again) and a shining force battle.
Graphics: 6-Not much changed, water color paintings
Sound: 9-Love the battle
Gameplay: 6-A lot like suikodens
-Rune

38
SAMURAI SHODOWN III: Blades of Blood (Sony/SNK, 1996)
"What happened?"  A poor translation of an average weapon arcade fighter. Select from 12 unique fighters each with a different weapon plus you can choose a evil or good path if you want. The load times and poor animation are too noticable epecially when compared to the arcade game.
*Rare Playstation game

For 1 or 2players
graphics: 5
sound: 6
gameplay: 5

49 SAN FRANCISCO RUSH (Midway, 1998)
Huge load times slow down this version of Rush.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 5
sound: 6
gameplay: 7

77 SILENT HILL (Konami, 1999)
Even creepier than Capcom's Resident Evil and has better controls too. Recommend!
For 1player only
graphics: 8
sound: 7
gameplay: 7

NEW!!
57 SIMPSON'S WRESTLING (Fox/Big Ape, May 2001)
This game is actually passable if you give it a chance. Pick from 8 different characters from the show (Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Ground's keeper Willie and some others) and battle it out in a wrestling ring. This is extremely limited when compared to WWF No Mercy on the N64 but it was fun to unlock new characters like Ned Flanders and Mr. Smiters and the game can be pretty funny at times. I just wish it was on a stronger system like the PS2, Dreamcast or even the N64.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 6
sound: 7
gameplay: 4

94 SOUL BLADE (Namco, 1996)
This game plays just as good as its sequel Soul Calibur on Dreamcast I believe. Each warrior can earn 10 different weapons each in the cool story Master Edge mode. Based on the not too successful arcade game Soul Edge, but it's better than that average game. Very Recommend!
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 7
sound: 9
gameplay: 9

62 SPEED RACER (Jaleco, 1996)
A little basic but it's not too bad. I never saw the Anime before but it looks kinda cool.

74 SPIN JAM (Empire, 2000)
A cute looking puzzle game that kinda plays like Bust A Move. I only paid $9.99 for this cool game.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 6
sound: 7
gameplay: 7

50 STAR GLADIATOR Episode 1 (Capcom, 1996)
Standard 3D fighter that's too confusing play and the endings really suck. Could of been great but no.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 8
sound: 8
gameplay: 4

45 STAR WARS EPISODE 1 The Phathom Menace
Choppy and boring.....see the movie and never play this action title.
For 1player only
graphics: 4
sound: 5
gameplay: 5

57 STAR WARS MASTERS Of The TESA KARI
a weird fighting game that's a little too weird if you ask me.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 7
sound: 6
gameplay: 4

55 STREET FIGHTER ALPHA (Capcom, 1996)
a spin-off that's more of the same. In other words, I Don't like it!
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 6
sound: 5

62 STREET FIGHTER ALPHA 2 (Capcom, 1987)
Crappy remake with little new.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 6
sound: 3
gameplay: 7

87 STREET FIGHTER ALPHA 3 (Capcom, 1999)
The best Street fighter game ever with loads of added stuff and over 30characters to choose from.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 7
sound: 9
gameplay: 9

73 STREET FIGHTER EX PLUS ALPHA (Capcom/Akira, 1997)
Crappy new 3Dgraphics but this new Street Fighter series has new gameplay features that works well. I love all the new stuff that can be unlocked.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 4
sound: 7
gameplay: 7

58 STRIDER 2 (Capcom, 2000)
Two great arcade games on one package, but the unlimited contiunes make the games almost pointless in challenge.
For 1player only
graphics: 8
sound: 7
gameplay: 6

68 SUIKODEN (Konami, 1996)
Unique story but nothing too new other wise in this RPG.
For 1player only
graphics: 6
sound: 8

79 SUPER PUZZLE FIGHTER II TURBO (Capcom, 1997)
A underrated puzzle game starring Street Fighting and DarkStalker characters! Match up different jewels and watch the fighters beat the heck out of one another. Very recommend!
*Very Rare Playstation game

For 1 or 2players
graphics: 5
sound: 3

52 TECMO STACKERS (Tecmo, 1996)
A unoriginal Kirby's avalanche clone with bad music and no save features.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 4
sound: 1

80 TEKKEN (Namco, September 9 1995)
In the new 32-bit wars of 1995, the Sony Playstation had it's 3D arcade fighter Tekken while the Sega Saturn had Virtua Fighter as their arcade 3D fighter.
Tekken features 8 selectable fighters on the quest to win the Iron Fist Tournament, each for their own reasons for entering the contest like Kazuya is trying to get revenge on his father (the head of the tournament) because he was left for dead as a child after being toss off a cliff, while Paul Phoenix is trying to fight Kazuya again after their fight ends in a draw before the big tournament which is not too different than the 'Ken' storyline of Street Fighter (he even wears an red ki and has blonde hair). Marshall Law is looking for money for a dojo and surprisely doesn't look like anybody from Virtua Fighter. Jack is a huge robot from Russia trying to get in mass production.
Although Tekken is in many ways better than Virtua Fighter on the Saturn, Tekken is still a little unoriginal because it copies too much from that Sega game and it should be noted that Sega was first to bring out a 3Dfighter and not Nacmo. For example; Nina Williams looks just like Sarah Byrant, King the wrestler acts like Wolf the wrestler.......... well, you get the idea.

The reason I liked this better than Virtua Fighter is because Namco included secret characters like Kuma the Bear, Armor King and Anne (Nina's sister), CG cinemas, and actually endings for the eight fighters. Namco did almost everything humanly possible to make the Playstation game better than it's arcade counterpart. Great two player game.

For 1 or 2players
graphics: 8
sound: 8
gameplay: 7

84 TEKKEN 2 (Namco, 1997)
More characters and more moves. Kazuya is now the master of the second Tekken Tournament after he defeated his father in the first game but just what kinda help did he get to win? Jun and Lei join the returning cast.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 8
sound: 8
gameplay: 8

88
TEKKEN 3 (Namco, 1998)
20years after the second tournament sees the return of the original Paul, Nina, Yoshimitsa, Lei and the 6 new fighters; Forest Law (the son of Marshall Law), Eddy Gordy, Hwonang, a chinese chick, Jin (Jun's son), and a new King under the mask.
Includes a stupid new Tekken Force mode (a limited version of a Final Fight type of game) and a unusual Beach Volleyball mode (hit one other with a ball), but still a cool 2 player game as always and now there are more fighting styles than ever.  Eddy Gordo rocks!

For 1 or 2players
graphics: 9
sound: 9
gameplay: 7

74 TEMPEST X (Interplay/Atari, 1996)
A fast and very intense upgrade to Tempest 2000, but it's still a little too hard to see the action at times thanks to some bad angels on certain webs.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 8
sound: 10
gameplay: 6

76 TENCHU (Activision, 1997)
a cool and bloody ninja game to kill your opponents without them knowing. Very innovative
For 1player only
graphics: 7
sound: 6
gameplay: 9

70 THE NEXT TETRIS (Hasbro, 1999)
Cool new ideas but not too different overall.
For 1 or 2players.
graphics: 6
sound: 5
gameplay: 5

59 THUNDER FORCE V (Working Designs/Techno Soft, 1998)
Nothing new in this Thunder Force game, a very standard side scrolling shooter. The graphics are also nothing too special.
For 1player only
graphics: 5
sound: 7
gameplay: 4

58 THUNDER STRIKE 2 (1996)
a good sequel to the old Sega CD game but it's still a little on the dull side.
For 1player only
graphics: 7
sound: 5
gameplay: 7

81 TOBAL No.1 (Square/Dream Factory, September 1996)
The DragonBallZ looking 3D fighter similar to Virtua Fighter and Tekken but this game comes with 4 optional dungeons to explore to unlock various secrets. Too bad we never saw the popular Japanese sequel Tobal 2 because Sony wouldn't approve it after this game didn't meet sales expections. This was Square's first ever Playstation release and it even had a early playable demo of Final Fantasy 7. A smart buy.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 7
sound: 7
gameplay: 8

73 TOMB RAIDER (Edios, 1996)
It's 3D and it's looks good too..... it's sorta plays like Out of this world meets Indiana Jones. Also on the Sega Saturn.
For 1player only
graphics: 8
sound: 6
gameplay: 7

62 TOMB RAIDER II: Starring Lara Croft (Edios, 1997)
Not too much new or original here but there is a ... new a..... flare gun.....ya! The ending really sucks and it fealt like the adventure wasn't worth it. Too bad.
For 1 player only
graphics: 7
sound: 5
gameplay: 6

35 TOMB RAIDER III: The adventures of Lara Croft (Eidos, 1998)
weaker controls and more boring levels are killing this series off....... fast. Awful! Just Awful!!
For 1player only
graphics: 4

gameplay: 4

52 TOMB RAIDER IV (Eidos, 1999)
it's still not too late to get your money back. Who cares that you can play Lara has a sixteen year old kid, uh?
For 1player only
graphics: 6
sound: 2
gameplay: 4

50 TOMORROW NEVER DIES (EA, 1999)
This choppy 3Dshooter was suppose to be the sequel to Goldeneye, wasn't it? Why is this on Playstation? "EA, sometimes you guys make the worse decisions!"
For 1player only
graphics: 5
sound: 6
gameplay: 6

75 TOSHINDEN: Battle Arena (Sony, September 9 1995)
This premiere Playstation 3Dfighter has great 3Dgraphics and solid fighting.
For 1 or 2 players.
graphics: 8
sound: 8
gameplay: 6

40 TOSHINDEN 3 (1997)
Too slow and too messy. It just tried too many things and failed at everything.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 4
sound: 5

44 TOTAL ECLIPSE TURBO (3DO, 1995)
A forgettable 3D0 shooter.
For 1player only.

72 TWISTED METAL (Sony/SingleTrac, 1995)
Chaotic racing but very fun.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 7
sound: 7
gameplay: 8

31 TWISTED METAL III (Sony, 1998)
Realistic and boring.....graphics sucks too. They ruined everything cool about this series yet it still sold like crazy because of all the hype. Avoid this dust collector!
For 1 to 4players
graphics: 5
sound: 5
gameplay: 1

69 VANARK (Jaleco, 2000)
This is almost like Star Fox for the Playstation. The graphics are nice but the levels are kinda repeatitive.

For 1player only
graphics: 8
sound: 6
gameplay: 7

71 VANDAL HEARTS  (Konami, 1997)
A routine strategy RPG, with a good storyline and lots of blood.
For 1player only.
graphics: 6
sound: 8

NEW!!
52 VIEWPOINT (EA, 1995)
The Neo Geo shooter gets a graphical upgrade on Playstation but the main problem with the game is that it's too hard to aviod some of the incoming bullets. I really hate the lack of weapons too.
For 1 or 2players.
graphics: 7
sound: 6
gameplay: 3

64 WARHAWK (Sony, 1995)
Outdated flight sim by today's standard but it has a lot of action.
For 1player only
graphics: 6
sound: 7
gameplay: 7

17 WCW THUNDER (THQ, January 1999)
Awesome wrestler intros, sucky a$$ controls. This is why people hate WCW. This awful game actually bumped off The Legend of Zelda: OOT from the top of the sales charts in January 1999, which is proof that a game doesn't have to be good to sell well (much like Tomb Raider III).
For 1 to 4players
graphics: 3
sound: 5
gameplay: 1

67 WILD ARMS (Sony, 1997)
Standard RPG in the wild, wild west. Ok?
For 1player only
graphics: 6
sound: 6

gameplay: 7

79 WILLIAMS ARCADE'S GREATEST HITS 3 (Williams, 1998)
Seven classic games in one disc like Spy Hunter, Splat, Root Beer Tapper, Blaster, Joust 2, BurgerTime, and Moon Patrol. I love Moon Patrol!! Splat kinda sucks though.
*Rare Playstation game
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 5
sound: 6
gameplay: 9

73 WIPEOUT  (Psychosis, October 1995)
The cool looking hovercraft racer but it's just too hard.
For 1player only.
graphics: 8
sound: 8
gameplay: 5

80 WIPEOUT XL (Psychosis, 1996)
More options and better graphics but it's still Wipeout.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 8
sound: 8
gameplay: 6

76 WIPEOUT 3  (Psychosis, 2000)
Better smoother graphics but more of the same. This game should already be in the discount bin with all other WipeOuts.
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 9
sound: 8
gameplay: 5

76 WWF SMACKDOWN (THQ, March 2000)
A little too quick at times but it's still fun. It's no WWF wrestlemania2000 on N64 though.
For 1 to 4players
graphics: 8
sound: 8
gameplay: 8

69 WWF SMACKDOWN 2: Know Your Role (THQ/Yukes, November, 2000)
I really hate the loading times in this WWF sequel but it includes loads of different matches like the Hell in the Cell, coffin matches and even a better create a wrestler mode. Despite the improvements the season mode is just too slow for my liking. WWF No Mercy is still king.
For 1 to 4players
graphics: 7
sound: 8
gameplay: 8

77 XENOGEARS (Square, 1998)
A somewhat overhyped game for a SquareRPG with really cool animation and sharp graphics, but has a very boring story that just goes on and on and on. This game should keep you busy for a good month but there may be a good chance you'll fall asleep while playing. If you like RPG's though this game is a good bet.
2 Disc set

*Rare Playstation game.
For 1player only
graphics: 8
sound: 8
gameplay: 8

67 XEVIOUS 3D/G (Namco, 1997)
Five shooters in one but each one don't differ much from one another except maybe the newer 3Dgame. Remember this annoying overhead shooter in the early eighties?
For 1 or 2players
graphics: 6
sound: 6

78 YOU DON'T KNOW JACK
a damn funny trivia game with some weird questions.
For 1 to 4players
